XIWEN MIAO  苗曦文

Xiwen Miao (苗曦文) is an award-winning Chinese director based in New York City, known for her compelling visual storytelling and work across commercial, narrative, and music video. Her filmmaking explores social issues and the human experience, with a particular focus on personal identity, cultural intersections, and intimate emotional landscapes — themes shaped by her upbringing and global influences.

Her diverse portfolio includes branded and commercial projects for major fashion and lifestyle clients such as Condé Nast, Vogue, Michael Kors, Moschino, Lacoste, Revlon, and Lanvin, as well as music videos for artists with significant streaming audiences. In 2025, her PSA work raising awareness for elder abuse was shortlisted at the Berlin Commercial Awards. And in the same year, she joined the Shiny List. Her work is featured on FREE THE WORK in 2023. In 2022, she was selected as one of the semi-finalists for the Commercial Directors Diversity Program (CDDP).

When she’s not on set, you’ll probably find her wandering the city with a camera in hand, cheering way too loudly at a sports game, or sweating it out at the gym. And if you happen to spot her savoring a glass of good wine at a cozy wine bar—well, that’s just her happy place.
